• European shares ended little changed on Monday as worries about U.S. trade policy and concern over emerging markets weighed on stocks after Asian markets closed lower.

The pan-European STOXX 600 index gained 0.05 percent to 382.46 points. Activity was subdued as U.S. markets were closed for Labor Day.

• Asian stock indexes were trading negative on Tuesday morning as markets remained uncertain about the future of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) and a possible escalation of the U.S.-China trade war.

• Japan's Nikkei 225 was down during early action, trading lower by 0.33 percent as most major sectors were in the negative. South Korea's Kospi was also lower by 0.12 percent.

• Down Under, Australia's ASX 200 was also in negative territory as it traded down by 0.22 percent. The heavily weighted financial sector shed 0.4 percent.
